Pet's Life
Pets , especially dogs have always been part of my life. But not till the last few years did
I realize they were more than just household pets....more than just family members(although
a very important job as well). Now I realize dog's especially are so much more to us as
human beings. There are dogs that are obviously helping their human, such as seeing eye dogs for the
blind. There's also dog helping their humans that you may not even notice are doing such.
These dogs are known as Emotional Support animals.Emotional Support Animals first gained popular amoung P.T.S.D. sufferers,
mainly Military Veterans. But not just military suffer from P.T.S.D. And not only can Military OR P.T.S.D.
sufferers benefit from having an emotional support animal. Now don't misunderstand, Emotional Support Animals are not to
be confused with actual Service dogs which have gone through classes and have official certification. With Service animals,
you can NOT be denied access anywhere with your pet. Owning and obtaining a service animal can be difficult and highly expensive.
Depending on your needs, owning an emotional support animal is an easier alternative. While they aren't allowed access ANYWHERE,
they are able to break some rules as far as your dwelling. They are allowed to live with you no matter what( within reasonable accomodations).
Having an emotional support animal usually will require a note from a DR. and of course any additional paperwork required by your landlord.
I have my eye on getting a dog soon.Something under 25lbs, as allowed by my apartment , will be perfect.
I'll update my blog again with pictures when I get the little guy.
Peace Out!
