Depression

I don't know anyone who likes going through depression....but I definitely hate it. People who don't understand just want you to snap out of it. I wish for my sake and everyone else who suffers from depression,  snapping out of it was that easy.

Unboxing

Thought I'd share an interesting coping technique. It's basically a special box for you to put tiny momentos of things that make you happy. This box is for when you need a quick mental escape. These items could be a scented candle, photo....etc

Alternative medicine

I know now there are many alternatives to the standard fda approved pills out there. What is tricky is finding the right alternative. Be careful,  as I've discovered,  some otc remedies can be pretty potent and have some adverse effects if not careful. Do you research before adding anything new. And try to keep the alternatives legal guys. I know and feel bad some alternatives aren't available nation wide....yet. Stay strong, coming hopefully soon to a state near you.

Lack of get up and go...

I noticed for pretty much all my ailments, lack of motivation is a symptom for almost everyone of them. No matter where it comes from, I hate this feeling. As though who have gone through this already know, it takes away any and all desires to do anything you usually enjoy. This is especially frustrating because when doing nothing your ailments usually gets worse , not better. The ONLY cure is to work through it....I know, trust me, easier said than done.

G.A.D.???

Was just reading up on G.A.D. or Generalized Anxiety Disorder. It helps to educate myself on this disorder as someone I know suffers from it. After educating myself a bit about it, I now know better ways I can possibly help them through it. Knowledge really is power. Reading the article helped me to understand why certain things were even happening....so sorta therapy for myself as well. Here's a link to article. Good luck and good health to all.: www.helpguide.org/articles/anxiety/generalized-anxiety-disorder-gad.htm#signs

Game on!

Looking very forward to football season. Sadly, life without football is lack luster. Bad enough because of where I live , My team doesn't usually get televised....not without some high priced cable package anyway. I've always been a Chicago Bears fan and will die a Chicago Bears fan. I remember once being a cheerleader and my squad and I calling out the wrong cheers for the actual play of the game. I laugh at those days. Now I'm still no expert by any means but I've learned a thing or two about the game in my ripe age of 38. Now I can mute the game and tell what the refs play call is....not great but not bad either. I won't even bother with the excuse "I'm just a girl".....nah, but I am still learning the game....no shame in that. Here's to a great season for the NFL, especially My Chicago Bears!

Pet's Life

Pets , especially dogs have always been part of my life. But not till the last few years did I realize they were more than just household pets....more than just family members(although a very important job as well). Now I realize dog's especially are so much more to us as human beings. There are dogs that are obviously helping their human, such as seeing eye dogs for the blind. There's also dog helping their humans that you may not even notice are doing such. These dogs are known as Emotional Support animals.Emotional Support Animals first gained popular amoung P.T.S.D. sufferers, mainly Military Veterans. But not just military suffer from P.T.S.D. And not only can Military OR P.T.S.D. sufferers benefit from having an emotional support animal. Now don't misunderstand, Emotional Support Animals are not to be confused with actual Service dogs which have gone through classes and have official certification. With Service animals, you can NOT be denied access anywhere with you...
